October 2nd: Leave Nashville
October 3rd: Arrive in St. Petersburg
October 4th: Visit Sam, Dr.'s appointment
October 5th: Court!
October 6th-18th: 10 day waiting period
October 18th-23rd or 25th: Paperwork in St. Petersburg
October 23rd, 25th or 26th: Gotcha day!
October 26th or 27th: Fly to Moscow
October 28th-29th: Paperwork in Moscow
October 30th: We're coming HOME!

Most young couples want to have children. They dream of holding a baby and building a family. We’re no different, but after a year of marriage God is calling us in a different direction. Adoption has always been on our hearts but God is whispering, calling, shouting. You can ignore a lot of things, but God’s not one them. So we’re not. We could ignore God and go the easy way. When you get pregnant, no one asks you if you’re sure, no one asks if you can afford it. That’s the easy way. And we’re not ones to take the path of least resistance.

This cracked me up! I watched that episode of The Office a few days ago which caused me to reflect on my time spent in Belarus. When I was working in an orphanage there, "the officials" showed up and kicked us out. (KGB, perhaps?) They wanted us out as we were affiliated with Baptist missionaries. In order to continue to volunteer there, we had to bribe THEM with supplies--pencils, lightbulbs, etc. What a backwards place! Anyway...
I know that it is so hard to stay strong through the never ending wait and exhausting process. Russia is such a difficult country--all the way around. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
